Posing and Animating with Inverse Kinematics.
Posing and animating skeletons involves two types of kinematics: forward kinematics (FK) and inverse kinematics (IK). Although the terms sound complicated, what they refer to is easy to understand. Forward kinematics is ideal for creating detailed arc motions because it requires the direct specification of each joint rotation. Inverse kinematics is ideal for creating goal-directed motion because it only requires the specification of a position and orientation that the joints in a joint chain will rotate to reach.

Posing Heads with Hot Points Tutorial.
One of Carrara's obvious strengths is its use of hot points to not only place objects and groups in space numerically, but also to rotate objects and groups relative to other objects or groups. One can serve as a child while the other serves as parent. In other words, the hot point can behave as a hinge like a lower leg is hinged to the upper leg at the knee

Practical Carrara Training Videos.
Carrara 7 is an amazing 3D modeling software package, that allows you to bring your imagination to life. In this Carrara 7 training video, expert instructor Phil Wilkes walks you through using this powerful package, starting from the basics. You will learn how to move around in the Carrara 7 space, and quickly get comfortable with the available tools. They you jump right into using the Carrara 7 feature set, including working with objects, managing cameras, posing, rendering, working with shaders, and much much more. Once you have all the operations down, you will put it altogether in a few final projects that re-enforce everything you have learned. By the completion of this video based training course, you will be fully versed in the operation of Carrara 7, and completely comfortable creating your own figures, animations, and environments. Work files are included
